Meet the New Kid on
the Block:

Brandi Friday


In August, Smarter Interiors welcomed Brandi Samuels Friday to our team as a sales associate. Brandi, who graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a B.A. in Interior Design, brings commercial and healthcare design, space planning and sales experience to our clients. She began her professional career as a project coordinator at a kitchen and bath design firm. Several years later, Brandi joined Mega Office Furniture as a designer where her clients included the United States Naval Academy, the US Marine Corp, Defense Supply, and the Marks & Harrison law firm.

With a ready smile and a "can do" attitude, Brandi is focused on commercial projects including hotels, restaurants, and corporate environments. For the newest in products and innovations, give Brandi a call.

When Owens & Minor, a Fortune 500 medical and surgical supply firm, built their new 160,000 square foot Richmond headquarters, they wanted to consolidate three buildings into a single, open plan that fostered more teamwork and provided expanded training capabilities. Because teamwork is the core of the O & M corporate culture, they involved their employees in the design of their new headquarters. Each of the 465 teammates voted for their favorite workstation in a head-to-head competition between Smarter Interiors and two other competitors


Smarter Interiors: Bringing a Bold Look with Environmental Sustainability Reaps Rewards

Making the most of over 20 years of experience, the Smarter Interiors Team knew that when both space and teamwork need to be maximized, the Reach produce line from Allsteel would be the ideal solution. O&M employees enthusiastically agreed when they selected the firm to outfit the new headquarters. With its contemporary looks, unique ability to turn walls into storage and material versatility, Reach and Smarter Interiors were the clear winners. The employees especially liked that the 43" wall height now allowed them to communicate with teammates without leaving their seats. They further customized the space with 9" custom wardrobe cabinets, COM materials on every panel and the incorporated Pantone® colors. An unexpected hit with employees was their reaction to Get Set tables used in conference rooms. Conference rooms are used frequently for a variety of purposes. The ability to nest and roll Get Set tables out of the way, or fold and cart them out of the room, now allowed maximum reconfiguration of the space in a short amount of time.
