Founded in 2000, Smarter Interiors is a premier office furniture dealer headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. As a service-focused firm, we earned a reputation as one of the best furniture dealers and service providers in the marketplace. Smarter Interiors represents over 100 manufacturers offering design, specification, and installation services. We work closely with clients and industry professionals to turn commercial interior concepts into reality.

Our team consists of interior designers, project managers, installers, and experienced owners to cover every obstacle. Together, we have decades of experience and are equipped with the knowledge, partners, and resources to create a solution that works for you.

  • Randy Alderson
    Randy Alderson Owner / Partner / Sales

    Randy is a founding principal with Smarter Interiors and brings close to 40 years of experience in contract furniture for a wide range of industries.

    A graduate of James Madison University, Randy began his career in office furniture with the Richmond-based company Williams Contract Furniture followed by several years as a sales representative with a furniture dealership called Morton Marks & Sons.

    In 1991, Randy joined Open Plan Systems where his client base extended throughout North America.  In 2000, he left to become Greg’s partner at Smarter Interiors. As part of the Executive Management and Account Team at Smarter Interiors, Randy stresses the importance of working with client groups, building consensus, and involving the client in the design and selection process.

  • Greg Campbell
    Greg Campbell Owner / Partner / Sales

    Greg is a founding principal of Smarter Interiors and has close to 40 years of commercial furniture experience. Greg spent most of his professional career specializing in new and recycled furniture for corporate office and healthcare facilities.

    After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1979, Greg began his career at the former Richmond furniture dealership, Morton Marks & Sons. In 1990, Greg left to co-found Open Plan Systems, a systems furniture re-manufacturer, where he was Executive Vice President and served on the Board of Directors. In 1995, Greg relocated to Chicago to establish a mid-west presence for Open Plan Systems’ presence in the Mid-West.  In 2000, he founded Smarter Interiors.  As part of the Executive Management and Account Team at Smarter Interiors, Greg stresses the importance of truly understanding and exceeding the client’s needs.

  • Nancy Powell
    Nancy Powell VP of Design

    Nancy has over 20 years of industry experience and knowledge. She oversees the design department working closely with sales, clients, and installers to assure innovative concepts and desires become realistic working environments. Nancy enjoys spending her time with family and friends and is usually busy with her neighborhood brewery, volunteering at schools, or cheering for her daughter in sporting events.

  • Debbie Voss
    Debbie Voss Senior Designer

    Debbie has over 20 years of design background full of fresh and original ideas. She is LEED and state certified, with the ability to design a space to fit any atmosphere. Debbie is a master gardener and can be found working in her garden in her spare time.

  • Missy Butcher
    Missy Butcher Senior Designer

    Missy has over 20 years of commercial interior design experience.  She is a self-described perfectionist and loves big projects. In her spare time, Missy loves being outdoors, playing golf and visiting National Parks.

  • Danica Galang Bocchicchio
    Danica Galang Bocchicchio Designer

    Danica has five years of experience and is a recent graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Interior Design. Prior to working at Smarter Interiors, she interned with the interior design staff at the University of Richmond and then worked in residential design for three years. You can find Danica attending various art and design events, going to local festivals, and spending time with her two dogs.

  • Rhonda Swingle
    Rhonda Swingle Accounting & FInance

    Rhonda started working with us in 2009. She oversees our accounting and finance functions. Rhonda loves spending her spare time on the “Rivah” boating, fishing and just floating about.

  • Dawn Winecoff
    Dawn Winecoff Project Management and Customer Success

    Dawn has been with us since 2008. She manages customer accounts and customer service. Dawn spends her time keeping up with her two children, volunteer work and attending yoga and Zumba classes.

  • Keith Herbert
    Keith Herbert Installation Supervisor

    Keith has over 15 years of experience and is our installation supervisor. Keith has in-depth experience installing a wide range of furniture applications and is a customer care expert.
